Oliver Cromwell9 Whitney (Nathan8, David7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Nathan8 and Abigail8 (Whitney) Whitney, was born 26 Apr 1826, Swanton, VT, and died 15 Apr 1901, Wathena, KS.[1]

He married firstly, 11 Oct 1849, Sheldon, VT, Harriett R. Williams. She was born 3 May 1829, and died 31 Mar 1854, Galena, IL.[2]

He married secondly, 25 Dec 1854, Galena, IL, Josephine A. Parnell, daughter of William Henry and Jane (Prior) Parnell. She was born 6 Aug 1836, Perranzabuloe, Cornwall, England, and died 31 Jan 1888, White Cloud, KS.[3]

He resided Sheldon, VT, Galena, IL, and White Cloud, KS.

In September 1850 Oliver Whitney and his first wife Harriet Williams-Whitney lived in Sheldon, Franklin Co, VT.

Oliver and Harriet had a son Weston Whitney in VT.

Between 1850 and 1854 Oliver and Harriet moved from VT to Galena, Jo Daviess Co, IL where Harriet died.

Between 1854 and 1858 Oliver moved from IL and lived with his second wife Josie in Iowa Township, White Cloud, Doniphan Co, KS Territory with his son Weston (by 1st wife Harriet) and his son Frank (by his 2nd wife Josephine (Josie)).

Oliver Whitney was a stone mason, a township officer in Iowa Township, White Cloud, Doniphan Co., KS, and the mayor of White Cloud, Doniphan Co, KS.

Oliver Whitney served in the Civil War in Company A, 7th Kansas Cavalry Regiment.
