Oscar F.8 Whitney (Zerah7, James6, Samuel5, Samuel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Zerah7 and Jane (Demond) Whitney, was born 6 Aug 1812, died 16 Feb 1849, Whitneyville, MI, and was buried there.

He married, 29 Nov 1837, Clinton, MI, Electa A. Bryant. She was born 12 Apr 1818, VT, and died 2 Dec 1886. She married secondly, before 1850, George Warner of Ada, MI.

He resided Whitneyville, MI.

Phoenix says the following:

"Oscar F. Whitney, b. at Danby, N. Y., 6 Aug. 1812; married at Clinton, Mich., 29 Nov. 1837, Electa A. Bryant; died at Whitneyville, Mich., 18 Feb. 1849, and was buried there."

Oscar Fitzalan was a character in The Children of the Abbey, a novel by the Irish romantic novelist Regina Maria Roche, first published in 1796.
