Jump to navigationJump to searchPeter6 Whitney (Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Jonas5 and Zebudah (Davis) Whitney,[1] was born 17 Aug 1772, Harvard, MA, and died 10 Oct 1826, Gray, ME, aged 54 years (g.s.).
Intentions of marriage were published 15 Sep 1797, Southborough, MA, for him and Joanna Newhall "of Leominster". He "of Southborough" married, 3 Oct 1797, Leominster, MA, Joanna Newhall, daughter of Michael and Joanna (Collins) Newhall. She was born 7 Sep 1775, Bolton, MA, and died 2 May 1841, Gray, ME.
He was also known as Dr. Peter Whitney. According to Pierce, Peter "went to Maine".

Amos Newhall Whitney, b. 26 Nov 1805, Gray, ME; m. 23 Feb 1843, St. Michael, Barbados, Dorothy Franklin, daughter of William Jonathan and Mary (Clarke) Franklin. She was bapt. 3 Oct 1816, St. James, Barbados.
