Ransom6 Whitney (Ebenezer5, Elnathan4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Ebenezer5 and Jemima (Powell) Whitney, was born 12 Jul 1782, NC. He was also known as Ransower Whitney.

He married, say 1803, ----- -----, of whom nothing is known.

i. (son)7 Whitney, b. ca. 1804-1810. Was he perhaps the David Whitney who m. Elizabeth Gant? They obtained a marriage license 30 Oct 1825, Lincoln Co., NC. The bondsman was Henry Minges and the witness was "Mic Cline".
ii. (son) Whitney, b. ca. 1804-1810. This was perhaps Family:Whitney, Branson (c1812-a1850).
iii. (daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1804-1810.
iv. (daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1804-1810.
v. (son) Whitney, b. ca. 1810-1820. This could perhaps be Demsey Whitney, b. ca. 1813, NC.
vi. (daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1810-1820.
vii. (daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1810-1820.

Notes

Was one of his daughters perhaps the Nancy Whitney who m. 30 Jul 1828, Burke Co., NC, Elijah Jackson? They removed to KY, and had son James H. Jackson. They were the ancestors of WRG member Karen K. Jackson-Hazley.

Was one of his daughters perhaps the Elizabeth Whitney who m. John Eaton? They obtained a marriage licence 30 Nov 1840, Lincoln Co., NC. The bondsman was "Branson Whitney" and the witness was "H Cansler, Clerk of Court".
