Family:Whitney, Rebecca (1761-1843)
Rebecca5 Whitney (Henry4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Henry5 and Elizabeth (Lobdell) Whitney, was born 18 Feb 1761 (twin), Ridgefield, CT,[1] and died 15 Dec 1843, Ridgefield, CT.
She married 18 Jan 1789, Ridgefield, CT, Josiah Olmstead,[2] son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Northrop) Olmstead, her second cousin by descent from the Olmstead family. He was born 21 Mar 1768, Ridgefield, CT, and died 10 Sep 1847 or 15 Sep 1857, Ridgefield, CT.
Phoenix says the following:
- ... a farmer .... They settled in Ridgefield, and there died .... They were buried in Titicus Cemetery.

i. Nicholas Olmstead, b. 24 Apr 1790, Ridgefield, CT; m.(1) Sarah Newkirk; m.(2) Hetty P. Stratton. ii. William Olmstead, b. 31 Mar 1793, Ridgefield, CT; m. Clara Nash. iii. Daniel Olmstead, b. 16 Aug 1795, Ridgefield, CT; m.(1) Mary Henrietta Gregory; m.(2) Julia Ann Hulse. iv. Ira Olmstead, b. 18 Jan 1800, Ridgefield, CT; d. 17 Jul 1863, Chester, NY; unmarried; buried in Warwick, NY. v. Elizabeth Olmstead, b. 24 Aug 1804, Ridgefield, CT; was living there in Apr 1875, unmarried.
