Reuben6 Whitney (Abel5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Abel5 and Thankful (Morton) Whitney, was born 21 Jul 1771, Gorham, ME, and died 13 Feb 1836, Litchfield, ME.

He married, 17 May 1798, Litchfield, ME, Mercy Baker, daughter of Barnabas and Mehitable (Smith) Baker. She was born 8 Aug 1774, Pownalboro, ME, and died Mar 1840, East Pittston, ME.

He was a wheelwright by trade. He resided Litchfield, ME.

i. Simeon7 Whitney, b. 6 May 1799, Litchfield, ME; m. 15 Oct 1825, Litchfield, ME, or 20 Not 1825, Hallowell, ME, Sally White.
ii. Levi Whitney, b. 26 Nov 1800, Litchfield, ME; m.(1) Mary Hutchings; m.(2) Hannah Whitney.

vi. Sally H. Whitney, b. 10 Jul 1809, Litchfield, ME; m. 29 Nov 1829, Nathaniel Decker, b. 7 Apr 1806; d. 16 Oct 1848. He was a cooper.
