Reuben⁶ Whitney (Abel⁵, Nathan⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Abel⁵ and Thankful (Morton) Whitney, was born 21 Jul 1771, Gorham, ME, and died 13 Feb 1836, Litchfield, ME.

He married, 17 May 1798, Litchfield, ME, Mercy Baker, daughter of Barnabas and Mehitable (Smith) Baker. She was born 8 Aug 1774, Pownalboro, ME, and died Mar 1840, East Pittston, ME.

He was a wheelwright by trade. He resided Litchfield, ME.
