He married Cleora Shelters, daughter of Phillip and Hannah (Carman) Shelters. She was born about 1826, VT, and died after 1880.
He resided Highgate Center, VT; left a son Phillip, whose widow resided Highgate Center.

(-----) Cummings.[2] v. Dora A. Whitney, b. 4 Jan 1860, Sheldon, VT;[3] d. 17 Nov 1888, Westford, MA. aged 28 years 10 months 13 days, of chronic nephritis;[4] m. 11 Oct 1880, Highgate, VT (also recorded at Lowell, MA), George Waldo Cummings, as second wife, son of John W. and Mary A. (-----) Cummings.[5]
