Rufus6 Whitney (Rufus5, [prob.] Joshua4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Rufus5 and Sarah (Graves) Whitney, was born 3 Nov 1793, Granville, NY, and died 5 May 1858, Hermitage, Wyoming Co., NY.
He married firstly, about 1817, Laura Hatch, daughter of Henry and Rhoda (-----) Hatch. She was born about 1796, NY, and died before 1847.
He married secondly, about 1846, Emeline Zerviah Clark, daughter of William and Grace (-----) Clark. She was born about 1819, NY, and died 22 Aug 1877.
Some of this family are buried in Vernon Cemetery, Half Day, IL.
