Sampson Whitney (Nathan, David, Nathan, Nathaniel, Benjamin, John), was born abt 1807, Maine, and died 03 26 1868, Goshen Twnshp, Belmont Co., OH.

He married 09 02 1829, West Alexandria, PA, Jane "Jennie" Long. She was born 03 28 1813, Poultney Twnshp, Belmont Co., OH, and died 02 15 1896, West Wheeling, Belmont Co., OH.

Census:

   1850 & 1860, Pultney, Belmont Co., OH; farmer & laborer

Sampson was a Civil War veteran. His widow received a pension from the U.S. government.
