Samuel A.⁸ Whitney (John⁷, Samuel⁶, Ebenezer⁵, Samuel⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of John⁷ and Elizabeth (Bouchart) Whitney, was born 6 Nov 1842, Whitney, NB, and died 7 Aug 1918, Stevens Point, WI, aged 75 years.

He married, 6 Apr 1873, Portage Co., WI, Lucy A. Brawley, daughter of Abraham and Sarah Ann (Bennett) Brawley. She was born 28 Dec 1843, Stevens Point, WI, and died 29 Jul 1919, Stevens Point, WI, of apoplexy.

The 1917 directory of Stevens Point lists Samuel A. Whitney and wife Lucy A., living at 803 Ellis, along with John, Clyde, and Irene.

iii.	Lucy V. Whitney, b. 5 Feb 1880, WI; d. 14 Apr 1882; bur. Forest Cemetery, Stevens Point, WI.[1]
iv.	Irene E. Whitney, b. 7 Sep 1882, WI; d. 27 Oct 1956; bur. Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS;[2] m. ca. 1918, Albert Perry McBride.

Notes

There was another Samuel A. Whitney, born Feb 1844, Linneus, ME, and wife Nancy (Small), who lived in Stevens Point, WI, 1882-1900. That man was a first cousin of this one.
