Family:Whitney, Sarah (a1731-a1774)

Sarah⁵ Whitney (Richard⁴, Richard³, Richard², John¹), daughter of Richard and Hannah (Whitcomb) Whitney, was born after 12 Oct 1731.^[1]

She married before 26 Jan 1773 someone named ----- Whitcomb, since the will of her father calls her Sarah Whitcomb. There are three candidates for her husband:

1. Capt. Hezekiah Whitcomb, as given in the database; he was born say 1730.
2. Oliver Whitcomb "of Bolton", int. 17 Dec 1754, Stow, MA; he was born 3 Oct 1732, Lancaster, MA. son of Jonathan and Rachel (Woods) Whitcomb.
3. Abel Whitcomb of Harvard, m. 23 Dec 1769, Harvard, MA.

If she was born about 1733-4, then a marriage in 1754 would seem logical. Thus we believe that her husband was the second candidate above, Oliver Whitcomb.

iv.	Oliver Whitcomb, b. 1 Feb 1763, Boxborough, MA.
v.	Peter Whitcomb, b. 30 Dec 1765, Boxborough, MA.
vi.	Abraham Whitcomb, b. 31 Jul 1768, Boxborough, MA, or Bolton, MA.
vii.	Isaac Whitcomb, b. 26 Feb 1771, Boxborough, MA.
viii.	Jacob Whitcomb, b. 20 Sep 1772, Bolton, MA.
ix.	Betty Whitcomb, b. 8 Mar 1774 at Bolton, MA.
