Dr. Schuyler7 Whitney (James6, Ezra5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of James6 and Clarissa (Gould) Whitney, was born 9 Sep 1806, Woodstock, CT, and died 1 Apr 1879 (Pierce says 31 Mar 1879), Southbridge, MA, aged 72 years 6 months 22 days, of heart disease,[1] s.p.

Marriage intentions were published 7 Sep 1828, Oxford, MA, for him and Sally Litchfield "of Charlton".[2] He "of Oxford" married, 23 Oct 1828, Charlton, MA, Sally Litchfield,[3] daughter of Cummings and Sally (Blanchard) Litchfield. She died 26 Apr 1879, Southbridge, MA, aged 72 years 6 months 20 days, of rheumatism and dropsy.[4]

He was a cabinetmaker, and went to Oxford, MA, in 1828 and was in that business there with Capt. William Sigourney. He sold out in 1832 and moved to Wilkinsonville, MA, where he was a shuttle maker. In 1843 he moved to Southbridge and was part owner of the Litchfield Shuttle Company until 1860. He then studied medicine and practiced until his death in 1879. He resided Southbridge, MA.
