Solon8 Whitney (Solon Miron Napolean7, Parkhurst6, Jonathan5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Solon Miron Napolean7 and Frances Elizabeth (Drake) Whitney, was born 18 Jul 1846, Niagara Falls, NY, and died 11 May 1895.
He married, 21 Dec 1870, Brooklyn, NY, Grace Virginia Oatman, daughter of Oscar F. and Julia (Bullinger) Oatman. She was born about 1855, New York, NY, and died Jul 1923, Niagara Fall, NY. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.[1] She married secondly, about 1897, his brother Drake8 Whitney.
He was educated at the public schools at Niagara Falls; later studied at Porter's academy and at Dr. Reed's Walnut Hill school at Geneva, NY. From 1867 to 1890 he was associated with his father in the management of the Cataract House; Buffalo St., Niagara Falls.
