Stephen6 Whitney (Stephen5, John4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Stephen5 and Relief (Stearns) Whitney, was born 25 Jan 1771, Lunenburg, MA,[1] and died 16 Sep 1811, Westminster, MA, aged 40 years.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 10 Oct 1802, Lunenburg, MA, for him "Junr." "of Lunenburg" and Sally Dexter.[3] He married, 7 Nov 1802, Leominster, Sally Dexter,[4] of Marlborough. She was born 14 Oct 1778, and died 28 Mar 1846. She "Wid." married secondly, 10 Jul 1814, Leominster, MA, Capt. Calvin Hale.[5] She had two children by her second marriage, Charles B. Hale and Maria S. Hale.

He was born in Lunenburg, but at the time of his decease had for 4 years been a resident of Westminster, where he was associated in business in a country store with Joseph Whitman. He also kept tavern, and the two, store and tavern, were connected. He resided Lunenburg and Westminster, MA.

a. Theodore W. Pierce, b. 6 Nov 1824; m. 26 Oct 1847, Laura A. Peasley, East Weare, NH; resided at 58 Amherst St., Nashua, NH.
b. Fidelia Pierce, b. 19 Aug 1826; d. 19 July 1878; m. Roxbury, MA, John H. Hawes, d. 19 Jun 1877.
iii. Sally Whitney, b. 10 Feb 1807, Lunenburg, MA;[9] resided 420 Washington St., Dorchester, MA; d. 10 Sep 1896, Leominster, MA, aged 89 years 8 months, of old age;[10] unmarried.
iv. Susannah Whitney, b. 20 Aug 1809, Westminster, MA;[11] m. 19 Apr 1829, Leominster, MA, Emerson Hills,[12] b. 7 Mar 1804; d. 3 Feb 1879; resided Leominster, MA. Children:
a. Junette Hills, b. 4 Jun 1831; m. 12 Oct 1853, ----- Years; resided Leominster, MA.
v. Emily Stevens Whitney, b. 20 Jan 1812, Westminster, MA;[13] d. 12 Jul 1812, Leominster, MA, aged 6 months, of lung fever.[14]
