He is church clerk of the First Baptist church, member of several temperance organizations, of the New England Dental Societies, but his most loved work is in connection with the Boys' Brigade, a Christian movement for the best interests of the boys. Is president of the 6th New Haven Boys' Brigade, and was the organizer of the company; resided New Haven, Connecticut, 678 State St.

Dr. Sumner Clark9 Whitney (Sumner Allen8, John7, John6, Nathan5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Sumner Allen8 and Lura (Clark) Whitney, was born 7 Mar 1853, Portsmouth, VA.
