He married, 21 Jun 1868, Montville, OH, Florence Eliada Broughton, dau. of Job and Martha (Baldwin) Broughton. She was born about 1850, Thompson, OH, and died 1928, Montville, OH.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer and teacher . . . . He resided at Montville in 1874, where he was then township-clerk, an exhorter in the Methodist Episcopal Church, and had taught school for ten years."
