Family:Whitney, William (1784-1859)

William⁶ Whitney (Joshua⁵, Benjamin⁴, Josiah³, [prob.] Benjamin², John¹), son of Joshua⁵ and Dorothy (Knowlton) Whitney, was born 22 Feb 1784, Hartford, CT, and died 14 Nov 1859.^[1][2][3]

He married, 24 Mar 1808, Norwich, VT, Prudence Brown,^[4] daughter of Samuel and Prudence (Sawyer) Brown. She was born 14 Nov 1790,^[5] Norwich, VT, and died 20 Oct 1856, Boston, MA, aged 65 years 11 months 25 days, of debility.^[6]

He resided Norwich, VT.
