William6 Whitney (Joshua5, Benjamin4, Josiah3, [prob.] Benjamin2, John1), son of Joshua5 and Dorothy (Knowlton) Whitney, was born 22 Feb 1784, Hartford, CT, and died 14 Nov 1859.[1][2][3]

He married, 24 Mar 1808, Norwich, VT, Prudence Brown,[4] daughter of Samuel and Prudence (Sawyer) Brown. She was born 14 Nov 1790,[5] Norwich, VT, and died 20 Oct 1856, Boston, MA, aged 65 years 11 months 25 days, of debility.[6]

He resided Norwich, VT.
