William D. Whitney (William P.), son of William P. and Mary (-----) Whitney, was born about 15 Nov 1849, Canton, NY, and died 19 Dec 1884, Lowell, MA, aged 35 ears 1 month 4 days, of septicaemia.[1]

He married, before 1872, Teresa B. Qua, daughter of Robert and Jane (-----) Qua. She was born about 1852, NY, and died after 1920.

William D. Whitney was an operative.

Herbert L. Whitney was married, a substitute letter carrier.

Arthur C. Whitney was married, a painter.

i. Lorena Whitney, b. ca. 12 Jun 1872, NY; d. 17 Nov 1882, Lowell, MA, aged 10 years 5 months 5 days, of disease of brain.[2]
ii. Herbert L. Whitney, b. ca. 26 Dec 1873, NY; d. 4 Aug 1904, Lowell, MA, or Rutland State Sanitorium, Rutland, MA, aged 30 years 7 months 8 days, of pulmonary tuberculosis;[3] m. 12 Jan 1897, Lowell, MA, Carrie E. Maynard, b. Oct 1872, Reading, MA, dau. of William and Caroline M. (Bragg) Maynard.[4] Children:
a. Herbert Maynard Whitney, b. 7 Sep 1898, Lowell, MA;[5] d. 4 Jun 1904, Rutland, MA [also recorded Lowell, MA], aged 5 years 6 months, of pulmonary edema.[6]
iii. Clarence H. Whitney, b. ca. 1876, "Morey" [Moira], NY; m. 6 Jun 1900, Lebanon, NH, Minnie P. Northrop, b. ca. 1878, Fairlee, VT, dau. of Azor and Sarah (Williams) Northrop.
iv. Arthur C. Whitney, b. 2 Jun 1878, Lowell, MA;[7] d. 30 Aug 1907, Lowell, MA, aged 29 years, of phthisis;[8] bur. Edson Cemetery, Lowell, MA; m. 11 Jun 1903, Lowell, MA, Annie C. Steeves, b. ca. 1876, NB, dau. of Thomas A. and Bertha J. (Gibson) Steeves.[9] Children:
a. Harold P. Whitney, b. 23 Feb 1906, Lowell, MA.[10]
v. Abby Marilla Whitney, b. 2 May 1882, Lowell, MA;[11] m. 16 Sep 1912, Lowell, MA, Percy Elihu Suttle, b. ca. 1880, Chelmsford, MA, son of George and Emma (Baker) Suttle.
