Census

  • 1830, China, Genesee Co., NY: William H. Whitney, 1 male 50-59, 1 male 5-9, 1 female 20-29, and 2 females 0-9. Apparently his age was quite a bit overstated.
  • 1840: not found. There is a William Whitney and also a William Whiting in Warsaw, Genesee Co., NY, but neither has a family fitting that of this William H. Whitney, i.e., a son 16, and two daughters 14 and 10.
  • 1850, Moravia, Cayuga Co., NY:

"M. A. D. Whitney" should be "Emma D. Whitney", and the "D." would probably be "Delia". The ages are slightly off.
