John Alexander³ Widney (Alexander Erwin², Charles¹, James), son of Alexander Erwin² and Margaret (Hammond) Widney, was born 27 Mar 1840, Spring Run, PA, and died 4 May 1933, Alpha, IL.^[1]

He married, 27 Oct 1865, Montgomery, IL, or Henry Co., IL, Sarah Ann Gillette, daughter of David and Mary (Dickson) Gillette.^[2] She was born 7 Mar 1841, NY, and died 27 May 1917, Alpha, IL, aged 76 years. She was buried in Woodhull Cemetery.^[3]
