WHITNEY is found on p. 659 of Pierce's _Whitney Genealogy_ (1895). That of his father Joel Barnard WHITNEY is on pp. 599-600. Their ancestry is: Alonzo E.-10, Joel Barnard-9, Torrey-8, Moses-7, Samuel-6, Samuel-5, Nathaniel-4, Nathaniel-3, John-2, John-1. There are listed some of the children of Alonzo E. and Della F. (SIMPSON) WHITNEY, all born in Thompson, PA: 1. Floyd L., b. 1 Feb 1880. 2. Bertie L., b. 12 Nov 1881. 3. Nettie May, b. 2 Sep 1884. 4. Flossie Belle, b. Jan. 14, 1887. 5. Mabel, b. May 3, 1890.
