1818 at Gorham in Cumberland Co MA (ME), in 1820 sol was
aged 66 with a wife Abigail aged 59 &amp; children at home;
Polly 21, Meriam 18, Happy 16 &amp; Louisa aged 14, sol
reapplied 31 Jul 1832 at Gorham ME, sol had m Abigail Stone
7 Dec 1780 at Gorham MA (ME), sol d 13 Dec 1834, wid appl 9
Oct 1838 at Gorham ME aged 76

D.A.R. Whitney Extracts: Daniel 'enlisted 1775, under Capt Hart Williams
and was discharged on account of sickness.  He re-enlisted 1777, served
at Ticonderoga and at Bayaduce under Capt Alexaner McLellan.  In 1818 he
was allowed a pension for two years actual service, private
Massachusetts line.  He was born in Gorham, ME, where he died.'

He is Daniel-5 WHITNEY (Abel-4, Nathaniel-3, Benjamin-2, John-1), son of
Abel and Mary (CANE) WHITNEY, b. 26 Sep 1754 Gorham, Maine; d. 13 Dec
1834; married Abigail STONE on 7 Dec 1780 and had 11 children.

The ages of the children don't seem consistent with the years Pierce
gives us; and I cannot determine which daughter is &quot;Polly&quot;, as Mary was
born too early to be 21 in either 1818 or 1820.
