My name is Joan Whitney Markert. I have always been interested in finding out about my Whitney ancestors. Growing up, I never knew the Whitney side of my heritage as my parents were divorced shortly afer my birth. As an adult I was able to connect with my father. After his passing, I was able to locate and connect with still living Aunts and Uncles as well as cousins, some still located in New England and others throughout the country. There are still others with whom I've not yet connected. It has been an interesting journey.
