Last update: 26 July 2004

The Whitney Research Group organized a second Whitney Research Group meeting and reunion. The dates were 25-27 June 2004, Friday through Sunday. The place was the Best Western College Park Inn and Fundome, College Park, MD, about 10 miles from downtown Washington, DC, and 1/2 mile from the campus of the University of Maryland. The address is 8601 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, MD 20740, USA.

This facility has many amenities, including a very nice restaurant on the premises called E. J.'s Landing. Free continental breakfast buffet is included with lodging. Other eating establishments are nearby, some within easy walking distance A free shuttle is provided to the nearest station of the Washington area Metro subway system, should you want to visit the museums, monuments, or genealogical research facilities.

Registration Fee

To obtain a low room rental rate, we had to pay for the meeting room space. That meant that we had to collect a registration fee from those attending the talks in the meeting rooms.

Banquet

We arranged for a welcoming plated banquet on Friday evening at 7:00 PM. The menu was either Coq au Vin or Chicken Cordon Bleu, with fruit cup, tossed salad, rice pilaf, green beans, and apple pie a la mode.
