Lydia3 Whitney (Jonathan2, John1), daughter of Jonathan2 and Lydia (Jones) Whitney,[1] was born 3 Jul 1657, Watertown, MA,[2] and died 27 May 1719, Sherborn, MA.[3]

She married, 15 Apr 1684, Sherborn, MA,[4] Moses Adams, son of Henry and Elizabeth (Paine) Adams, as his second wife. He was born 6 Oct 1654, Medfield, MA,[5] and died 16 Mar 1723/4, Sherborn, MA.[6]

Moses had married firstly, 14 May 1680, Medfield, MA, Mary Fairbanks,[7] daughter of Jonas and Lydia (Prescott) Fairbanks,[8] born 20 Apr 1659, Dedham, MA,[9] died 15 Nov 1681, Sherborn, MA.[10]

He probably inherited his father's land situated on Wennekeening Brook, and now in Holliston. He seems to have ahd his house lot of 20 acres assigned to him on Chesnut Brook, where he undoubtedly lived. He was a tythingman in 1686, and selectman in 1701.[11]

On 21 Dec 1702, she was mentioned as child "Lydia Addams" in the will of her father Jonathan2 Whitney of Sherborn.[12]

On 4 Feb 1713/4, he was mentioned as "brother-in-law Major Adams" in the will of Benjamin3 Whitne of Sherborn.[13]
