Benjamin5 Whitney (James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Dea. James4 and Martha (Rice) Whitney was born 23 Oct 1727 at Sherborn, MA[1] and died 17 Dec 1793 at Sherborn, MA, at age 66[2], his estate was probated 3 Apr 1794 at Sherborn, MA; will proved; his estate was probated 3 Apr 1794 at Sherborn, MA; executor's bond posted by James Whitney, yeoman, with Daniel Whitney, Esq., and Aaron Whitney, yeoman, as sureties, all of Sherburn; his estate was probated 10 Nov 1794 at Sherborn, MA; inventory taken by Jonathan Fay, Timothy Hill, and Silas Stone; his estate was probated 12 Nov 1794 at Sherborn, MA; release of widow Mary Whitney of Mendon to all claim to the estate; his estate was probated 2 Apr 1796 at Mendon, MA; widow Mary Whitney, now Mary Taft, acknowledged her release of all claim to the estate; his estate was probated 19 Sep 1796 at Sherborn, MA; division and agreement of heirs between James Whitney and Joseph Whitney, yeomen, both of Sherburne, sons of Benjamin Whitney, late of said Sherburne, yeoman, decd.

Sherborn where Capt. Curtis Golding resides.' He There is a Deacon Benjamin Whitney whose death is recorded in Sherborn as of 17 Dec 1793, but thus far there is no certainty that it was this Benjamin Whitney. He left a will on 25 Jan 1793 at Sherborn, MA; of Sherborn, yeoman; wife Mary Whitney; sons James Whitney (executor) and Joseph Whitney; witnesses Daniel Whitney, Aaron Whitney, and Caleb Lealand.

Mary Fairbanks was born say 1730; guess by RLW. Marriage banns for she and Capt. Robert Taft were published on 10 May 1795 at Upton, MA; second wife, wife "of Mendon." She married Capt. Robert Taft on 11 Jun 1795 at Mendon, MA; husband "of Upton." She died on 23 Apr 1804 at Upton, MA.
There were no children of Benjamin5 and Mary (Fairbanks) Whitney.
