I am the great great grandson of Ollie on Walters lineage. I'm pretty sure that you are my grandfathers neice/ nephew, based on your lineage. He has told me that he remembers Ollie saying that her parnents (Ruth and Oliver) had married in the Arlington House, where Arlington Nat'l Cemetery is today. He says the reason they married there is that Ruth is a cousin of general Robert E. Lee. While I have not yet found any documents proving this, I have found a website stating records from Arlington, Mass. They show a Samuel and Rebecca Perry marrying on Sept. 2, 1824. Corelia Moser is known to have a Samuel P. and Rebecca as her parents. I hope you can find this helpful, and that you might have more information to help me find James Whitney's parents. I think James was born in Virginia, and my family is fairly certain he lived to be 108. There is also a thought that Ruths Maiden name might have been Lee, and not light.
