Josiah5 Whitney (Josiah4, Josiah3, [prob.] Benjamin2, John1) son of Josiah4 and Lydia (Ballard) Whitney was born 16 Nov 1764 at Willington, CT[1] and died 29 Oct 1792 at Granville, MA, at age 27[2].

Josiah married Mary Loomis, daughter of Solomon Loomis and Mary Dart, 26 Nov 1783 at East Windsor, CT.

Mary Loomis was born on 26 Jan 1765 at Bolton, CT. She married Solomon Payne in Nov 1797. She died on 14 Jan 1850 at Rootstown, OH, at age 84. She died on 14 Jan 1859 at Rootsville, OH, at age 93.
