WHITNEY (WHYTENEY), Eustace (1414-80); of Whitney, Heref., esq. M.P. Herefordshire 1467-8.
S. of Robert Whitney M.P. (d. 1441), by Alice da. of Thomas Vaughan of Hergest; m. (1) Jane, da. of Thomas Russell by whom he had his h. Robert; and (2) Jane, da. of Robert Clifford.
Elector, Heref., 1447 and 1467 when he and Thomas Monyngton, the other
elected M.P., head the list of electors. Pardoned, Jan. 1458, "of
Whitney in the larches [Marches] of Wales, esq., late of Colepychard, Heref.,
late of Hereford". On Heref. comns. 1457, with Devereux July 1460,
and Aug. 1461. J.P. Heref., 17 July 1461 11 death ; apportioner of
subsidy in Heref. 1463.5
To judge from his J.P.ships he must have died 1480/1. Robert Whitney
was sheriff in 1476.
