I descend from John Whitney (wife Elinor) who settled in Watertown, MA. He had a son Richard, who had a Richard Jr. The direct line continues through Deacon/Capt. Jonathan Whitney of MA to Caleb Whitney.  One of Caleb's sons was Joseph Whitney who married a lady named Esther (Esther Crittendon according to my Grandfather Charles
