Henry Payson8 Whitney (John7, John6, etc.), son of John7 and Abigail (Foster) Whitney,[1] was born 05 Sep 1820, Warwick,MA,[2] and died 10 Oct 1896, Maple Grove, Hennepin, Minnesota.[3]
He married 20 Jan 1850, Alexander, Washington, Maine,[4] Margaret Hall Bohanon, daughter of Ananiah Bohanon, Jr. She was born 21 May 1824, Alexander, ME, and died 25 Oct 1915 Maple Grove, MN
They lived Alexander, ME; Princeton, ME; Boston, MA; Vassalboro, ME; Brooklyn Twp, MN; Maple Grove, MN
He preferred to be called H.P., and signed all documents in that manner.
He was the Assessor of Alexander, ME 1860, and the Moderator of the 1860 town meeting.
He was a teacher, book agent, farmer.
April 1871, H.P. left his family in Vassalboro, ME and removed to Brooklyn Twp, MN where he established a farm and built a home prior to sending for them in 1873.
He was the town clerk for Brooklyn, MN and various town documents, deeds, and legal papers bear his signature.
