He married Adeline Shockey, eventually settling in Dansville, NY where he began a prosperous appliance and electronics business with a large factory storefront named "Whitney's." Additionally, he owned a residential rental portfolio of homes. He retired to FL in 1967. He passed away in 1988 at age 89.
