Daniel Whitney, Kingman, ME

Rob,

I have found your family in the 1880 Census. See Archive:1880 Census Extracts, Maine, Penobscot County#289. I couldn't find him or his family in 1870. In 1860, Daniel Whitney was a 22-year-old farm laborer living in a family with a different surname in Chester, ME. It is quite likely he in the 1850 Census here: Archive:1850 Census Extracts, Maine, Franklin County#32. I believe his parents were John and Polly (Temple) Whitney of Weld, ME, and his grandparents Jeremiah and Lydia (Cole) Whitney of Weld, ME. The ancestry of Jeremiah Whitney is not proven, but there are WRG members very much interested in discovering it. DNA testing shows that he was a direct descendant of John1 Whitney of Watertown, MA.

Good luck in your search. If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me.
