My husband and sons are direct descendants of the elusive Calvin Whitney (s1788 - 1832) (a.k.a. The Calvin & Haynes Whitney mystery line). Our specific Whitney parents were of Whitney/Manning and Mayo/Burgess families.
My personal goal is to find the missing link that will connect us to the ole' Whitney tree. I hope to assist this group by searching through old books which have recently become available through Google Books. I am looking forward to helping others with their missing links.
My maiden name is Horr, so I am also researching my own lineage. So far I'm all the way back to the Hore's of Rushford Manor. I hope someday records will verify our connection to Sir William Hore (c.1190). I am of the Horr/Lowell and Soper/Donald families; all of whom were born in Maine.
Ironically, I have a great aunt named Lulu F (Golder) Whitney of Lewiston, Me. Any information on her as well as any other connections would be greatly appreciated.
