I am researching John Whitney, Jr., son of John Whitney, Weld, Maine and came across the 1900 Census for Minnesota, Morrison, Buh Township, Enumerated on the 11th day of June 1900. There is a John Whitney born Aug 1834 in Maine, Father born in Maine and Mother born in New Hampshire. This information is a match to what I have for information on John's parentage. John Sr. was born in Maine and Polly was born in New Hampshire. Is this John Whitney the John Whitney from Weld? or is this John Whitney the son of Otis as stated on my John Whitney?
