Robert Shaw⁸ Whitney (Albert Appleton⁷, Appleton Downer⁶, Asa⁵, Joshua⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), born -----, Massachusetts, 14 Sep 1835; married in Elyria, Ohio, 2 Jun 1855, Emily Hicks, born Loraine County, Ohio, 13 May 1837. She married 2d, 5 Dec 1877, Augustus I. Garnsey. She resided at Burnside Crossing, Cook County, Illinois. He was a carpenter and carriage manufacturer. He died 29 Jan 1875; resided Brighton and La Grange, Ohio, and Burnside Crossing, Illinois.
