I descend from John Whitney (wife Elinor) who settled in Watertown, MA. He had a son Richard, who had a Richard Jr. The direct line continues through Deacon/Capt. Jonathan Whitney of MA to Caleb Whitney. One of Caleb's sons was Joseph Whitney who married a lady named Esther (Esther Crittendon according to my Grandfather Charles
Whitney's chart). They had a son named George Washington Whitney, who was born c. 1806 in Utica, NY. Next the line goes to one of his sons, Willis Washington Whitney, who although born in MA, removed to Canton, OH and ultimately to Cuyahoga Co. (Cleveland area), OH. Willis' son Charles Willis Whitney (b. 1902 in Canton) was my grandfather, and his daughter Marilyn Whitney (b. 1927 in Cleveland), my mother.
My Whitney line connects to the Tenney line of NH/MA at George Washington Whitney. It may also connect with the Crittendon line of CT at Joseph Whitney. At Charles Willis Whitney, my grandfather, the Whitney line connects with the Eisenbraun (alternately Brown) ancestry of Wuerttemberg, Germany.
