Marriage banns for John and Bethia Cutter were published 30 Jan 1736/37 at Weston, MA; husband "of Weston", wife "of Watertown;" m. Bethia Cutter, daughter of Ephraim Cutter and Deborah Stone, 6 Oct 1737 at Watertown, MA; husband "of Weston", wife "of Watertown;" m. Elis---- (--?--) before 8 Aug 1738 at Weston, MA.

He Robert Ward's 5-Gen descent says born in Watertown, Weston VR Genealogical Bits says born in Weston, neither of the W. or W. VR's has an entry for his birth. A John Whitney died in 1760. That it is this John Whitney is not yet proven by a will or other probate document. Weston VR's have a John, Jun. as a church member 25 Jul 1736 - at age 22. Same record also shows a Joseph Whitney, son of John, as a church member 11 Oct 1741, also at age 22.

Bethia Cutter was born on 9 Jul 1713 at Watertown, MA. She was born on 9 Jul 1714. She was born on 9 Jul 1714. She was also known as Bethia Cutler. She There is confusion about which John Whitney married Bethia Cutter. Since she was born in 1713, the John Whitney born in 1714 would be the most appropriate age for her.

ii.	Ephraim Whitney, b. 16 Apr 1740 at Sudbury, MA; m. Mary Reed 4 Jul 1765 at Dedham, MA; d. 16 Sep 1775 at Cambridge, MA, at age 35; accidentally shot.

Elis---- (--?--) was born say 1717; guess by RLW.

There were no children of John⁵ and Elis---- (--?--) Whitney.
