Nelson⁸ Whitney (Ethan⁷, Hiram⁶, Henry⁵, Isaac⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), born Milford, Massachusetts, 5 May 1811; married Millbury, Massachusetts, 6 Apr 1836, Ruth Morse Guild, born 16 May 1813; died in Bellingham, 25 Nov 1893. He was a boot and shoe maker. He died 17 Oct 1882, in Bellingham; resided Milford and Millbury, Massachusetts.

iv.	Elbridge Green Whitney, born 13 Nov 1842; married Emma A. Barney.
v.	Betsey M. G. Whitney, born 17 Oct 1844; died 6 Aug 1848.
vi.	Melissa Ruth Whitney, born 28 Jan 1847; married 9 Nov 1866, Milton F. Holbrook; resided Bellingham. He was born Medway, Massachusetts, July 9, 1845. Is superintendent of a mill. Ch.: Mabel W., born in Bellingham, 2 Nov 1867; Edwin N., born in Franklin, Massachusetts, Jan. 15, 1870; died 1 Oct 1876.
vii.	Laura Ann Whitney, born 18 Jun 1849; died 21 Nov 1849.
viii.	Caroline Elizabeth Whitney, born 25 Apr 1851; married 16 Jan 1894, George D. Nourse, born 26 Jul 1852; resided Bellingham, Massachusetts. He is a farmer, s. p.
