My interest is in Blanche Milborne, who married first James Whitney of Whitney and Pen-cwm. Her dowry was Icomb in Gloucestershire which was later inherited by their first son Robert. Widowed, Blanche married, secondly, the (illegitimate) son of the Earl of Pembroke, becoming Blanche Herbert Lady Troy (see Wikipedia). If you are interested, see the book: 'Blanche Parry Queen Elizabeth I's Confidante' which has a section all about Lady Troy (who was Blanche Parry's aunt. Lady Troy brought up Queen Elizabeth I and her brother King Edward VI. See: www.blancheparry.com

Another niece of Lady Troy, and a younger sister of Blanche Parry, was Sybil who married James Whitney of Clifford. Their grand-daughter was Elinor Bull in whose house in Deptford the playwright Christopher Marlowe was killed in 1593 (described in the book above).

title: 'Blanche Parry & Queen Elizabeth I'

This calendar to treasure commemorates the Diamond Jubilee of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, 2012. Through the generosity of the Queen it includes the gorgeous portrait of Princess Elizabeth, c.1546, in her red and gold dress. The Marquess of Salisbury generously allowed the Rainbow portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, the portrait of Lord Burghley (Blanche's cousin) and a photograph of Hatfield Old Palace to be used. The other pictures show: Blanche Parry's St. Margaret's Church (Westminster) tomb, her Bacton monument, Queen Elizabeth I's Presence Chamber, the frontispiece of the 1588 Welsh Bible, Llangorse Lake + 1584 map, the site of Newcourt + drawing of the house, Bacton Church and Dore Abbey. We are most grateful to all the picture owners. Apart from printing and wrapping expenses, everyone involved has been a volunteer. Each picture has a detailed explanatory paragraph describing the picture's relevance. The front and back covers of the calendar, plus details of all the pictures, can be seen on www.blancheparry.com

All proceeds from this calendar will benefit Bacton Church, Herefordshire, UK, where Blanche worshipped as a girl and where her family are buried. It is the Church where Lady Troy became Godmother to Blanche Parry. The calendar is a strictly limited edition, with superb pictures, and cannot be repeated. The calendar can be bought through amazon.uk. This calendar really is recommended. Thank you.
