1838 V. Edwin Fitch Blackmond,1 b. in Wilton, Conn., 15 May 1809; a joiner and chair-maker; married, 16 Sept. 1832, at Buffalo, N. Y., Roxana Weedon, who was born in Palmyra, N. Y., 21 July 1806, dau. of Philip and Louisa (Mendell) Weedon. He lived in Buffalo from 1830 to 1834; in Clarence, N. Y., till 1846; and then returned to Buffalo, where he died of consumption, 30 Dec. 1868, after long suffering, which he bore with cheerful resignation. He was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo. She was living at North Buffalo, in Oct. 1874. 5944
1839 VI. William Wesley Blackmond, b. in Wilton, Conn., 28 Jan. 1811; a farmer; married, 4 July 1833, at Henrietta, N. Y., Maria Maltby, dau. of Chandler and Sabra (Cook) Maltby, of Henrietta. She was born near Sacket's Harbor, N. Y., 9 Ap. 1811. They settled in Northfield, Mich., 3 Nov. 1833; and there she died, 28 Jun 1864, and was buried. He moved, in 1871, to Flint, Mich., and was living there in Jan. 1875. 5950
1840 VII. Asa Whitney Blackmond, b. in Wilton, Conn., 1 Aug. 1813; married, in Oct. 1839, at Perry, N. Y., Charlotte Ayers. He was living at Otsego, Mich., in Jan. 1874.
1841 VIII. Eliza Ann Blackmond, b. in Wilton, Conn., 13 Oct. 1815; married, 5 May 1837, at Castile, N. Y., Hiram Doty Cobb, a physician, son of Joshua Whitney and Susan (Doty) Cobb, and g. son of Elijah William and Sally (Whitney) Cobb, of the Mass. Whitney family. She died of consumption, 4 Nov. 1871, at Wells, Minnesota, and was buried there, leaving the reputation of "an earnest Christian, an excellent wife, and a devoted mother." He married (2d), at Wells, Mrs. Sarah Ann Goodrich, and was living there in Jan. 1875. 5959
1842 IX. Clarissa Whitney Blackmond, b. in Wilton, Conn., 8 March 1820; married, 1 Jan 1842, at Castile, N. Y., by Rev. Samuel C. Church, Methodist Episcopal, to Ira Maher, a farmer, who was born at Rome, N. Y., 13 Nov. 1808, son of William and Zilpha (Andrus) Maher. They dwelt in Covington, N. Y., till 1 Nov. 1843; in Wyoming, N. Y., till 1 Ap. 1847; in Covington again, till 1 Dec. 1857; in Pike, N. Y., till 1 Dec. 1858; and then returned to Covington, where they were living in Jan. 1875. 5966

1843 I. Raymond Whitney, b. at Norwalk, Conn., 16 May 1805; a machinist and, since 1852, a farmer; married in Easton, Conn., 4 Jan. 5970
  1 The family have written their name variously, as Blakeman, Blackman, and Blackmer. He was the first to write it Blackmond.
