I. Sarah Whitney, b. in Romulus, N. Y., 1801; married about 1820, at Shelby, N. Y., John Adams Ross, a farmer, afterward a machinist, born in New Hampshire, 19 March 1797, son of Jonathan and Sarah (Dudley) Ross. They settled in Shelby, where his parents resided at the time of his marriage; and there she died in childbed, about 1822, predeceasing her infant but a few days. They were buried in Shelby.

II. Abigail Whitney, b. in Romulus, N. Y., 23 Oct. 1803; married about 1823, at Shelby, N. Y., John Adams Ross, whose first wife was her elder sister, Sarah. They settled at Shelby Centre; and, in 1826, moved to the village of Medina, N. Y., where he died 7 Nov. 1839, and was buried in the family cemetery of Daniel Ross, in Shelby. He was a drummer in the war of 1812. She died in Medina, 13 Sept 1853, and was buried beside her husband.

III. Job Whitney, b. in Romulus, N. Y., 16 June 1805; a farmer; married, 31 Jan. 1832, at Knowlesville, in Ridgeway, N. Y., Caroline Porter, who was born in Franklin Co., N. Y., 5 Oct. 1808, dau. of Asa and Hannah (Hall) Porter, the latter residing in Knowlesville at the time of her marriage. He lived in Knowlesville and Shelby, N. Y., from 1827 to 1847; and then moved to Wyoming, Mich., where she died, 26 Feb. 1848. He married (2d), 11 May 1848, at Courtland, Mich., Catherine Mary Kellogg, of Sheffield, Mass., born 2 Dec. 1808, dau. of "Donney" and Aura (Curtis) Kellogg. They were living in Byron, Mich., in March 1875. He was supervisor of Wyoming in 1860 and 1863.

V. Samuel Carpenter Whitney, b. in Romulus, N. Y., 20 Dec. 1808; a carpenter; married at Shelby, N. Y., 5 Sept. 1833, Sarah Lucinda Locklin, who was born in Dunham, Canada, 29 Ap. 1811, dau. of John and Laura Ann (Post) Locklin. He went, with his father, to Shelby, in Jan. 1816, and was still living at Shelby Centre in 1873.

Y., 4 Sept. 1833, by Elder Morell, to Willard Post, a carpenter and joiner, who was born in Burlington, Vt., 12 March 1805, son of Noah and Lucinda (Bruce) Post, the latter residing in Shelby at the time of his marriage. They dwelt in Shelby for five years; in Royalton, N. Y.,
