V. Harmon Eastman Whitney, b. in Danby, N. Y., 7 Dec. 1830; a carpenter and joiner; married at Grand Rapids, Mich., 4 July 1855, by Elder Prescott, Baptist, to Lydia Ann Moffatt, whose father then lived in Cannon, Mich. She was born in Mayfield, N. Y., 21 Nov. 1835, dau. of John and Sarah (Bovie) Moffatt, of whom the first was from England. Before his marriage, he lived at Grand Rapids, four years; after marriage, they dwelt at Cannon, Mich., four years, and at Grattan Centre, Mich., till Feb. 1873; when they moved to Hersey, Mich., and resided there in 1874.

VI. Emeline Whitney, b. in Cannon, Mich., 12 Jan. 1838; married there, 14 Nov. 1855, by Rev. J. H. Hard, Congregational, to Charles Roswell Hine, a druggist, whose father then lived at Cannon. He was born at Deposit, N. Y., 12 Nov. 1832, son of Demas and Sally (Noble) Hine. They settled at Cannon; moved thence, in Aug. 1859, to Plainfield, Mich. and from there, in May 1862, to Lowell, Mich., where they were living in 1873--he being then a director of the Lowell National Bank, and supervisor of the town.

II. Eunice Orena Whitney, b. in Newtown, Conn., 7 March 1824; married at Wakeman, Ohio, 6 Ap. 1851, by Rev. Minor Fairfield, Presbyterian, to Charles Riley Shelton, a farmer, son of Gershom and Hepsy (Smith) Shelton, of Oxford, Conn., where he was born 3 Jan. 1820. They settled in Wakeman, and were living there, without children, in Sept. 1875.
