Lidia versus Sidia
I have seen similar problems when reading through old handwritten documents where a cursive L and S look very similar as do a cursive L and T. Someone then misinterprets the handwriting and puts in a plain text document the misspelling and it continues on until someone looks at the original again and notices the transcription error. It could be a simple as this.
