Seventh Generation.
1703 III. Henry Keeler, b. in South Salem, N. Y., 19 Jan. 1813; a farmer; married, 28 Nov. 1837, at South Salem, Loretta Benedict, who was born in South Salem, 12 Sept. 1816, dau. of Peter and Betsey (Smith) Benedict.1 They settled in South Salem, now Lewisboro', where he died suddenly, of heart-disease, 7 Feb. 1875, aged 62 years, and was buried in South Salem Cemetery. 5589

1704 I. Jeremiah Wood, b. in South Salem, N. Y., 14 March 1799; a farmer; married, 1 Nov. 1820, at Yorktown, N. Y., by Rev. Charles Butler, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at South Salem, to Mary Ann Horton, who was born in Yorktown, 2 Sept. 1798, dau. of Daniel and Ann (Strang) Horton.2 She died in South Salem, 19 May 1823, and was buried in the Presbyterian Churchyard. He was married (2d), 13 Oct. 1824, at Yorktown, by Rev. Asa Bronson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church there, to a sister of his first wife, Margaret Horton, who was born at Yorktown, 26 Ap. 1 804. They settled in South Salem, about a mile east of the village, and were living there in Nov. 1874. 5591

1707 I. Rufus Canfield, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 3 Dec. 1802; a farmer; married, in the Autumn of 1823, at Ridgefield, Polly Northrop, dau. of Joseph and Anna (Olmstead) Northrop, of Ridgefield, where she was born, 14 Sept. 1801. They settled in Ridgefield, where she died, 21 Nov. 1873, "aged 72 years, 2 months, and 7 days." He was living at 54 French Street, New Brunswick, N. J., in Feb. 1877. 5594
