1835, Marinda Silliman, dau. of Deacon Justus Silliman, of Easton, where she was born 21 March 1806. He was engaged with his brothers in carrying on a furnace, manufacturing plows, etc., in Bridgeport, Conn.; and afterward removed to North Fairfield, Ohio, where he was living in 1868.

Roswell Whitney, b. in Wilton, Conn., 24 Aug. 1807; a farmer and fruit-grower; married, 24 Oct. 1838, at her father's house, in the upper part of Wilton, Eliza Whitlock who was born in Wilton, 18 Nov. 1811, dau. of Matthew and Sarah (Denton) Whitlock. They settled in Fairfield Conn., and, in Ap. 1862, removed to a new settlement in Hammonton, N.J., whence they went, in 1866, to Old Bridge, N.J., and from there, in Ap. 1868, to Bridgeport, Conn. In Nov. 1869, they bought a place at Nichol's Farms, in Trumbull, Conn., where they were living in 1874.

III. Bennet Whitney, b. at Wilton, Conn., 23 March 1810; married at Suffield, Conn., 14 Oct. 1836, Susan Curtis, born at Suffield, 9 Ap. 1808, dau. of Nathaniel Curtis. He lived in Bridgeport, Conn.; removed to Des Moines, Iowa; returned to Bridgeport, where he lived in Ap. 1867; moved to Vineland, N.J.; and in 1874, lived at 107 Neilson Street, New Brunswick, N.J.

Caroline Whitney, b. at Wilton, Conn., 20 Jan. 1812; married 9 June 1842, in Fairfield, Conn., Jonathan Lacy Gilbert, a carriage-black-smith, son of Jesse and Abigail (Lacy) Gilbert, of Huntington, Conn. He was born in Brookfield, Conn., 1 Oct. 1811. They were living in the village of Fairfield, in Oct. 1873.

Zenas Whitney, b. at Wilton, Conn., 27 July 1814; a pattern-maker; married in Southport, Conn., 6 Nov. 1837, Drusilia Perry, born at Weston, Conn., 23 July 1816, dau. of Nathan and Sarah Perry, of Weston. He lived in Bridgeport, Conn., in 1867, and, a few years later, in New Haven, Conn. He is said to be a Baptist preacher.

VI. Sarah Esther Whitney, b. at Wilton, Conn., 5 Dec. 1817; married at Bridgeport, Conn., 30 June 1846, Henry Blakeman. They settled in Bridgeport, where she died, 12 March 1865, and was buried in the old Division Street Cemetery.

Emily Ann Whitney, b. at Wilton, Conn., 22 May 1821; married at Bridgeport, Conn., 2 March 1846, Burton Washburn Leonard, a manufacturer of portable grist-mills and mill-machinery, born 24 Sept. 1822, son of Elijah Leonard, of Kent, Conn. They were living in John Street, Bridgeport, in Oct. 1873.
