1913 II. William Benedict, b. in Norwalk, Conn., 21 Dec. 1797; married, 7 July 1818, Martha B. Keiling, who was horn 3 Dec. 1793, and died 25 July 1820. He died 5 July 1821. 6143

1918 I. Lewis St. John, b. in Wilton, Conn., 2 Oct. 1800; a broker; lived with his grandparents, in Wilton, till 1813, and then with his parents, in Otego, N. Y., till 1816, when he went to Cooperstown, N.Y., to learn the tailors' trade; dwelt in New York City from 1821 till October 1832, and then in Mobile, Ala., till 1836, when he returned to New York, and at the last report, 1873, was in business at 138 Chatham Street, and his house at 63 Monroe Street; married, 13 July 1826, at Norwalk, Conn., Ann Hoyt, born in Norwalk, 18 Oct. 1804, dau. of John and Ruth (Gregory) Hoyt, of Norwalk. She died in New York City, 27 July 1832, of cholera, and was buried in St. John's Church burying-ground in New York. He married (2d), 25 July 1836, in New York City, Maria Millikan, who was born at Hinsdale, Mass., 11 Dec. 1802, and died in New York City, 27 Nov. 1836, of hemorrhage of the lungs, and was buried in a vault in St Luke's Church yard, Hudson Street. He married (3d), in New York, 4 Dec. 1838, Margaret Ann Ackerman, born in New York, 26 Sept. 1811, dau. of John Ackerman. She died in New York, 22 Aug. 1866, of cholera, and was buried in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Newtown, L. I. 6145
1919 II. Deborah St. John, b. in Wilton, Conn., 8 Nov. 1801; married, 27 Nov. 1825, Ezra White, who was born 11 Ap. 1798; died, 30 May 1845, in Laurens, N. Y. He lived in West Oneonta, N. Y., in 1874.
1920 III. Alfred St. John, b. in Wilton, Conn., 24 Feb. 1803; a ship-carpenter, founder, and machinist; married, 19 Oct. 1828, in New York City, Mary Patterson, born, 9 Nov. 1803, at New London, Conn.; settled in 6150
