My earliest ancestor was Henry Whitney from England. My mother is Marion Leona (Lamoreau) Nesland born in Presque Isle ME 1915. She married Alvin Nesland in Kent WA. 25 Sept. 1950. She was a nurse and served in the army WWII. Alvin was a farmer. Her parents were Gordon Arthur Stewart Lamoreau, b. 8 Apr. 189o N.B. and m. Francis Pearl Rideout in 1913 ME. He was a farmer and she was a teacher. Gordon's parents were Edwin Wetmore Lamoreaux b.1828 N.B. and he m.Margaret Olive Stewart. He died in 1916 in Presque Isle, ME. Edwin's parents were George Taylor Lamoreaux, b. 1805 N.B. and he m. Susannah Craft Wetmore his 2nd cousin b. in 1805 and d. in 1876. He died in 1864 in N.B. Susannah's parents were Judge-David Brown Wetmore and Betty Whitney b.7 July 1773 in Norwalk CT. Betty Whitney descends from Sylvanus Whitney, b. 3 Feb. 1748/9 Carleton N.B., son of Eliasaph Whitney, b. 3 Feb. 1716/7 d.17 May 1817, son of Nathan Whitney, b. abt. 1695 CT. d. aft. 1739, and the son of John Whitney, b. before 1645, d. 1720? and who was the son of Henry Whitney.
