Abel married 12 Nov 1735 at York, ME Mary Cane, daughter of Nicholas Cane and Mary Parsons.
He (From McClellan's History of Gorham) "Abel Whitney died before September, 1762, for at that time his widow Mary received a deed from Barnabas Bangs of a part of the thirty acre lot, 81. Mrs. Mary Whitney married second, June 10, 1763, Samuel Crockett."
Mary Cane was born circa 1714 at York, ME.

Joanna Stone. ix. Joanna, b. 27 Sep 1749 at York, ME. x. Naphtali, b. 10 Feb 1750/51 at York, ME, Marriage banns for he and Mary Stone were published 22 Mar 1777 at Gorham, ME, wife "of Scarboro." xi. Micah, b. 11 Dec 1752 at York, ME; m. Hannah Cobb. xii. Paul; b. 30 Jun 1756 at York, ME, d. 29 Aug 1778 at RI at age 22; killed in battle. - McClellan's History of Gorham states that Paul enlisted in the Revolutionary Army from Gorham, and was killed in Battle in R. I., 1778.
