I also suggest that the message posted at Discussion:User/Deane Whitney Merrill Jr. (1938- ) is appropriate to appear on your User: page User:Dwmerrill, which is intended for you to give some information about yourself. I recommend that you move them both.

Help with Editing
Deane:
Pages for any Whitney persons or Whitney descendants of other surnames are welcome. Information on living persons is strongly discouraged, for reasons of privacy and identity theft prevention. Your page for Constantine Hardy is welcome, although I'd have made Sally (Flagg) Hardy the focus, since she is the Whitney descendant. In fact, such a page would be named "Family:Flagg, Sally (1773-1841)". I could have created that page myself, but have been busy on other projects.
You cannot delete or rename a page. Only a system operator (sysop) can do that. At present, that is only Tim Doyle or myself. Ask, and we'll either accommodate you, or explain why not.
For help in editing, I recommend clicking on the "Help" link in the "navigation" box on the left-hand side of every page. There is a whole section called "Editing Guidelines" which contains much useful information. I also recommend Family Group Page Format Standards. If you need further help, post a message to my User_talk: page.
